Drip irrigation systems can of course be used in shrub plants and orchards. Unlike field crops that generally use drip tapes to deliver water to crops, the drip irrigation system of shrubs and fruit trees mostly uses cylindrical drip irrigation pipes or a combination of PE irrigation pipes + online drippers. The PE pipes of these two water delivery facilities are relatively thick and can be used for several years. Moreover, when using the combination of PE pipe + online drippers, you can drill holes by yourself according to the position of the tree, and adjust the position of the drippers, which is very convenient.
For the drip Irrigation system of a large field, the basic elements include the pump, irrigation valves, large filter facilities, air valves, main line, submain Line, drip lines, drip line connectors and accessories. While for small area drip irrigation system, which is less than 2 hectares, the system is very simple. It can be as simple as a water tank, small manual filters, several valves, hose and driplines. No extra power or pump needed.
Many farmer friends want to install drip irrigation systems on 2 or 1 hectares or even smaller farm land plots. The price of drip irrigation systems is often a factor that must be considered. The drip irrigation system used in small plots is very simple. For example, a gravity irrigation system for small plot only includes a water tank placed at a high place (usually 2 meters to 3 meters higher), a small disc filter or mesh filter, layflathoses as main pipes and drip tapes and drip lines. It is also possible to use a water pump, only a small water pump is required to ensure that the pressure of the drip irrigation tapes or pipes is between 0.3 bar to 1 bar. These are relatively cheap materials. Therefore, the whole system will be very economical. The first one is the system requirements of the water. When considering drip irrigation system, no matter with drip tape, drip line or drip pipe, the most important thing is anti-clogging. Organic and inorganic particles, impurities, etc. in the water will block the dripper outlet of the dripper system, destroy the uniformity of irrigation, and increase the maintenance cost. Therefore, it must be ensured that the water entering the irrigation system is free of these particles. In actual operation, a sedimentation water tank is generally set up, and river water, well water, etc. are precipitated in advance, filtered by filter system of 120 mesh (130 microns level)or more, and then injected into the irrigation system. The irrigation filter system usually combines primary filtration device (Sand Filter a for river water, and hydro cyclone sand separator (centrifugal type filter) for well water) and secondary filter (mesh filters or disc filters). If the water is very good quality, the mesh filters and disk filters can also be used as the primary and only filter in the drip irrigation system. In addition, although the drip irrigation pipes and the main pipe of the drip pipe system are generally made of plastic materials (PE, PVC, POM) that are resistant to salt and alkali corrosion, the water with too high salinity is easy to form crystals at the drop emitters, causing blockage. In this condition, it is necessary to consider cleaning the pipes with weakly acidic water with a pH value of 5.5-6.0 after the drip irrigation system has been used for a period of time. The second one is the common requirement of the irrigation water. Itdepends on the needs of the crop being irrigated, mainly pH, water salinity (EC), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), etc., regardless of whether a drip irrigation system used or not.
Normally, drip irrigation is suggested for row crops, no matter field crop, vegetables, bush crops or any protected crops, either on a flat field or on sloping terrain.
Drip irrigation is suitable for most of climates. From hot climate to cold climate. Drip irrigation can be used in tropical rainy, dry, temperate marine, temperate continental, and highlands. As the water is dispatched by tapes, the influence from environment is minimized.

The PE drip lines may be damaged by rats or pests or sunshine; 4. If the drip lines are not installed properly, it may get clogged easily and not function any more; 5. For one season field crops, the drip tapes on surface needed to be put away when harvest.
Drip irrigation have the advantages as below: Firstly, Save water and fertilizer. The water, sometimes with water-soluble fertilizer, goes directly to the plant root area uniformly, minimize the waste caused by water evaporation andrunoff. It is much more efficient than other irrigation methods. Secondly, Save labor: With a well-done irrigation system, farmers can irrigation bigger land with less human resources, and more efficient. Thirdly: Uniform water and fertilizer distribution: This brings the farmers higher consistent quality yields. And even in the sloping land, it can keep uniformity with the help of PC drippers. Finally, Better harvest: With the drip irrigation, crops get the water and fertilizer at the accurate volume they need at the suitable time. It helps to keep good soil aeration, avoid high salinity caused by excessive fertilizer application. So better harvest is promised with less input.
Drip irrigation, also named trickle irrigation, is the one type of crop irrigations that can delivery of waters and fertilizers to the plants efficiently, smoothly and precisely. Drip lines or drip tapes are adopted in drip irrigation system. The drip lines or drip tape are PE tapes or pipes with integral emitters ( also named drippers).
